About Father Dill
Father Anthony Robert Dill was ordained to the priesthood on June 30, 2012, at St. Patrick Cathedral in Harrisburg by Bishop Joseph P. McFadden. In the years since, he has served the Diocese of Harrisburg in both parish ministry and in roles that require deep training in the Church’s law.
Before coming to St. Francis of Assisi, Father Dill served as Pastor of Holy Spirit Parish in Palmyra. On June 17, 2024, Bishop Senior assigned him as Pastor of our parish in Allison Hill. He is the eighteenth pastor in our 125-year history.
Service to the Diocese
In addition to leading our parish, Father Dill continues to serve the wider Diocese of Harrisburg in three significant roles:
- Vice Chancellor — one of the senior administrators of the Diocese, charged with the keeping of official diocesan records and the day-to-day execution of the bishop’s decrees.
- Canonical Consultant — advises the bishop and diocesan offices on matters of canon law (the Church’s legal tradition, distinct from civil law).
- Promotor of Justice in the Diocesan Tribunal — a canonical role responsible for safeguarding the public good in marriage cases, penal matters, and other tribunal proceedings.
The title Very Reverend is used in the Catholic Church for priests who serve as deans (also called vicars forane) — pastors entrusted with leadership over a group of neighboring parishes in addition to their own.
