Volunteers serving at the St. Francis Soup Kitchen

Service to Allison Hill

A soup kitchen since 1981, transitional housing at Casa Romero, and a parish that has put service at the center of its identity for over a century.

Service is core to who we are. The St. Francis Soup Kitchen has fed over 200 neighbors a day for more than four decades. Casa Romero offers transitional housing. Volunteers and donations make it all possible.

How to Help — How to Be Helped

Why It Matters

Allison Hill is one of the most working-class neighborhoods in Harrisburg. The Soup Kitchen is not a side ministry — it is core identity. “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
