Visit

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church — Harrisburg, PA

Plan your visit. Whether it’s your first Mass or your fiftieth year here, we want your visit to feel easy. Park free in the lot off Cumberland Street, walk in through the main doors, and a parishioner will help you find a seat.
Planee su visita. Sea su primera misa o su quincuagésimo año aquí, queremos que su visita sea sencilla. Estacione gratis en el lote de Cumberland Street, entre por las puertas principales, y un parroquiano le ayudará a encontrar lugar.

You don’t have to be Catholic. You don’t have to know the responses. The doors are open before every Mass, and a parishioner near you will help you find your place.

First Time? What to Expect

Catholic Mass lasts about an hour and follows the same shape every week: Word (readings from Scripture and a homily) followed by Eucharist (the central act of Catholic worship). You don’t need to participate in anything you don’t feel ready for — sit, stand, kneel as you’re comfortable. If you’re Catholic and would like to receive Communion, please come forward; if not, you’re welcome to come forward with arms crossed for a blessing, or simply stay seated — both are loving choices.

If you have a question about the Mass, the parish, or anything else — please call (717) 232-1003 or email [email protected]. We would love to meet you.
